Covert hypnosis is a type of mind programming that works when a person is not under a hypnotic trance and is achieved with the use of repetitive phrases, indistinct choices of words that bring about strong but abstract mental pictures, and a certain body language that helps the subject trust the hypnotist. Covert hypnosis is commonly used (sometimes unknowingly) by successful businessmen or salesmen, public speakers, politicians, and the like.
